Speakers.

Hello Welcome back to my blog.

In woodwork we have been working on making speakers. Although we will not get them till next term because we have no chips for them, but we can tell you how we made them. What we had to for this was we had to write 6 of the 15 steps of how to make a speaker here is my work.

1. mark the holes on your piece of wood

2. drill the holes one at a time making that they are all lined up

3. glue and nail your piece of wood together and leave them to dry

4. solder your wires together making a complete wires

5. glue your speakers into a box

6. solder a switch to your circuit and complete it by adding a battery pack

Protest at Bastion point.

Hello welcome back to my blog.

Today we  have a story about protesting this time its about Bastion point and what they did to save there land we had some questions that we had to answer here is my work.

Discrimination:the act of treating someone unfairly off of how you see them

Prejudice:an opinion formed without knowing all the facts

Stereotype:how you think someone acts based off what they like or look like

Protest:disagreeing with a popular opinion/to express objections in a planned or organised way

Social messaging:passing of a message or idea from person to person or community

What happened.

The government were going to take the Maoris land and turn it into housing but they didn't agree with this because this was there home or because there was someone burred on it so people protested to keep the land and built huts and lived there for around to years before the police forced them out then bulldozed the plot.

How did stereotyping and social messaging impact this incident.

With social messaging impacted this incident by the government saying that what they were doing was OK and what the protesters were doing was bad stereotyping I don't know how this happened but i'm guessing they said that all the protesters were violent.

How has this protest impacted new Zealand.

Years after the Maori land were taken they decided to give it back to the Maori this year celebrates the 43 anniversary since the protest.

Dawn raids.

Hello welcome back to my blog.

There was a lot of protests that have happened in new Zealand and around the world but here in new Zealand a protest for something that was horrific was the dawn raids so we got some questions we had to answer here is my work.

At a time when there wasn't enough people to fill jobs the new Zealand government invited people from Polynesian islands and other places to work here with a permit that would say when they had to leave, after a while the permits were extended but then the jobs become scarce and lots of people became jobless

people blamed it on the people of colour mostly on the Polynesians and would report them to the police and they would do a dawn raid. In a dawn raid they would come at 3 am come into your house and arrest every one even the children and hold you in prison until you could prove you have a right to be here you were not aloud to take anything from your house except the clothes on your back.

How did Stereotyping and social messaging play a role in this incident.

Social messaging was in this incident because the government said that people were taking jobs and blamed it on people of colour mostly Polynesians and this spread around the community causing people who say live next to some who was of colour to report them and take there job.

How has this protest impacted new Zealand

There are now people from all over the world here and there are new rules for the police and people. The government has now apologised for what they did.
